Budget 2025 to be tabled on Oct 18, says Fahmi

PUTRAJAYA: Budget 2025 is set to be tabled on Oct 18, says government spokesman Fahmi Fadzil.

This marks the third budget to be tabled by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also Finance Minister, since assuming office after the 15th General Election in 2022.

The first budget he tabled was in February last year, followed by another in October.

He said this was the date set so far and that the Dewan Rakyat meeting would start on Oct 14.

“During the Cabinet meeting, the Prime Minister also directed ministers to hold engagement and dialogue sessions with stakeholders.

“He wants ministries to get feedback and views from industries and stakeholders to ensure they benefit from our policies, incentives, programmes and to address challenges they face,” he told a press conference yesterday.

Fahmi said feedback and suggestions from stakeholders would be reviewed by the Finance Ministry to see how it could be best included in the budget.

At a recent engagement session, the Prime Minister said Budget 2025 would continue focusing on achieving targets set under the Madani Economy framework.

Anwar said a series of changes would also be put in place, which will boost the country’s economic growth.

He also noted positive results from policy changes implemented by the government earlier this year.
