PM Anwar wishes Malaysian Buddhists a Happy Wesak Day

PETALING JAYA: Extending Wesak Day greetings, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim encourages Malaysians to unite in their understanding of one another.

"Happy Wesak Day to all Buddhists in Malaysia. May the Wesak celebration enlighten you, bring your friends and family happiness, and strengthen harmony," he said in a Facebook post on Wednesday (May 22).

He reminded everyone that Malaysians should come together for every celebration to better understand one another’s cultures.

"One of the universal ethics emphasised in Buddhist teachings is rejecting 'ignorance'. Let us strive together to improve understanding, embrace the strengths of our people, and prioritise advancing our nation.

"I am very confident that this country can become strong with its united people," he said.
