Port Dickson roads to be closed in stages on Sunday for triathlon

PORT DICKSON: Several roads in the resort town will be closed temporarily in stages for the Port Dickson International Triathlon this Sunday (May 5).

District police chief Supt Aidi Sham Mohamed said certain stretches will be closed between 7am and 2pm.

"Although the triathlon will be held over two days on May 4 and 5, the roads will be closed in stages on Sunday.

"Due to this, we hope motorists will be able to better plan their trip during the period," he said, adding that the events that will be held are swimming, cycling and running.

Supt Aidi Sham said the stretches that would be closed temporarily for the cycling event include along Avillion Admiral Cove, Port Dickson Hospital, Sunggala roundabout, Jalan Sua Betong-Sunggala, Jalan Si Rusa-Air Kuning and back to Avillion.

Additionally the running event will take place along the Avillion, Grand Beach Hotel, Bayu Beach Resort, Pantai Cahaya Negeri, King Char Kuey Teow outlet, Batu 4 pasar malam site and Batu 4 KFC stretch.

"We would like to advise all motorists to slow down when driving along the routes during the period and to obey all traffic rules," he added.
