AMPANG JAYA: Component parties of Pakatan Harapan are urged to respect the coalition's decision on seat allocations for the upcoming Melaka elections.
PKR vice president Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said Pakatan top leadership had approved the seats allocated to each component party.
He was responding to former Melaka DAP chairman Damian Yeo, who said he would quit the party and politics rather than accept an electoral pact between Pakatan and Bersatu for the Melaka polls.
Yeo had accused Bersatu of betraying Pakatan in 2020 and said there is "no forgiveness" for them.
Pakatan will contest 21 seats in Melaka, with PKR contesting nine, DAP seven and Amanah five.
Nomination day is on Oct 31 while polling set for Nov 14.
The remaining seven seats were supposedly being considered for Bersatu under a potential electoral pact, but no official announcement has been made yet.
Asked if the potential Pakatan-Bersatu pact would apply for upcoming Sarawak state election, Amirudin said no decision has been made yet.
"Any political pact requires bilateral understanding between the parties involved," he added.
The Sarawak state assembly was dissolved on Oct 26 and the Election Commission will meet on Nov 6 to decide key dates for the 13th Sarawak Election.
On the confidence and supply agreement with Bersatu, Amirudin said discussions are still ongoing.
It was reported that the CSA would be signed before the Selangor budget is tabled next month.
Amirudin was speaking to reporters after launching the Gombak-Hulu Langat Geopark's (GHLGP) assessment at MPAJ Convention Centre here on Oct 27.
