PETALING JAYA: AWC Bhd
, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Qudotech Sdn Bhd, has secured a RM39.7mil subcontract from Gamuda Engineering Sdn Bhd for works at a hyperscale data centre in Bandar Springhill, Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan.
In a statement, the engineering services group said the contract covers the supply, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning of cold water, rainwater harvesting, water reticulation, fire hydrant and sanitary systems.
The contract is expected to contribute positively to the group's financial performance from the financial year ending June 30, 2027 (FY27) until its completion.
Group chief executive officer and president Datuk Ahmad Kabeer Mohamed Nagoor said the contract marked AWC's fourth data centre project secured in the past 12 months, bringing the combined value of these contracts to RM127.3mil.
He said several contracts had come from repeat customers, reflecting the group's track record in executing data centre projects.
"Data centre facilities are built to compressed timelines and demanding technical tolerances, where the scope for recovering lost time is limited.
"Our team has delivered within those parameters on successive projects, and we are confident of our capacity to do so again," he said.
Ahmad Kabeer said the group remained positive about securing further opportunities, particularly as data centre developments are typically implemented in multiple phases.
As at June 30, 2026, AWC's engineering division had an order book of RM139.2mil, excluding two data centre contracts worth a combined RM62.8mil.
At the group level, its order book stood at RM824.3mil as at June 30, 2026, excluding the latest contract and a RM23.1mil data centre project secured in August 2026.
