KKB by-election: Fahmi unfazed by Ramasamy's efforts to convince voters to snub Pakatan

HULU SELANGOR: PKR information chief Fahmi Fadzil is unfazed by former DAP leader P Ramasamy’s efforts to urge locals - especially Indians - to vote against Pakatan Harapan’s candidate in the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election.

In a sarcastic jab, Fahmi said Ramasamy’s actions to undermine Pakatan in the by-election could be due to a lack of attention given to the former Penang deputy chief minister.

“He (Ramasamy) is lacking in love,” said Fahmi during a press conference after visiting the media centre at Kuala Kubu Baharu on Monday (April 29).

Fahmi who is also Communications Minister added that Ramasamy's party Urimai should consider officially joining Perikatan Nasional.

“I am not sure if his party or himself had applied to enter Perikatan. But please join Perikatan, I am sure many people over there will love him,” said Fahmi.

Meanwhile, Fahmi said he met with the Barisan Nasional state liaison secretary over MIC’s plans to assist Pakatan’s campaigns in Kuala Kubu Baharu.

“We will ensure that MIC has a strong strategy,” said Fahmi.

On Sunday (April 28), it was reported that Ramasamy started a campaign urging locals to vote against Pakatan in the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election.

Ramasamy had previously said that Indian support would be tested during the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election and he urged Indian voters to demand better treatment from the government.

In Aug last year, Ramasamy tendered his resignation to DAP after he was among the seven incumbents who were dropped as candidates in the Penang state polls last year.
