Cabinet reshuffle: Dr Dzul's experience will strengthen Health Ministry, says PM

PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad’s experience as Health Minister will enable the government to meet the growing demand for healthcare services, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The Prime Minister believes that Dr Dzulkefly’s appointment would strengthen the ministry, which has been burdened with many issues.

“We hope that by having him on board, Dr Dzulkefly will be able to use his experience to look into the healthcare system,” he said on Tuesday (Dec 12).

Dr Dzulkefly was health minister during Pakatan Haraparan’s administration in 2018.

He was dropped from the Cabinet in 2020 after Tan Sri Muhyidd Yassin took over the administration.

After GE15 last year, Dr Zaliha Mustafa was appointed as Health Minister.

The Cabinet reshuffle sees her placed in charge of Federal Territories matters under the Prime Minister’s Department.
