STRANGE knocking on their doors in the wee hours of the night terrified residents around Batu Pahat, Johor, so much so that assemblyman Ling Tian Soon visited to comfort those affected, reported China Press.

The incident is believed to have begun sometime early November when residents of Kampung Parit Haji Siraj claimed to have heard knocking on their door at night.

However, they claimed that when they opened the door, there was no one there.

Resident Nur Yana Nazwa, 35, was one of the residents who claimed to have encountered the mystery knocking.

She claimed to have encountered it on three separate occasions, all of which happened around 2am.

In the first incident, Nur Yana and her husband, upon hearing the sound, went out of the house but could not find anyone.

“The two other incidents also happened around 2am. There were knocks at my back and front door.

“My husband was deep asleep and I was the only one who heard them. Even so, I did not dare to look,” she said.

Nur Yana added that other villagers shared similar experiences and the fear was causing everyone to lose sleep.

The incident went viral on social media, which led to Ling, who is Yong Peng assemblyman to pay a visit.

Ling said the mystery knocking left some residents terrified of leaving their houses at night.

“I went to visit to understand the situation and to provide some comfort to everyone,” he said.

Nur Yana showed Ling CCTV footage of the area outside her house, which showed that no one was there when they heard the knocks.

However, she claimed that a faint ray of light could be seen on film before each of the knocking.

She sought help from a group of paranormal researchers who claimed that the knocks came from an “entity” but was unable to give it a name.
