Sabah congratulates Sultan Johor

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah congratulates Sultan Johor Darul Ta'zim, Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Sultan Iskandar who was chosen as the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong on Friday (Oct 27).

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor made the congratulatory greetings on behalf of the people of Sabah.

"The people of Sabah welcome and wish His Majesty well," he said.

His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim will take over the throne from Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah effective Jan 31, 2024.

Hajiji also expressed the people of Sabah's gratitude to the outgoing Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah for his visit to Sabah in the recent Jelajah Kembara Borneo programme.

"We in Sabah will always remember him, the Permaisuri Agong and his family for being down to earth and close to the people.

“We wish the royal family good health," he added.

Keeper of the Rulers Seal, Tan Sri Syed Danial, announced that the Rulers’ Conference decided during its 263rd Meeting (Special) at the Istana Negara on Friday.

He also announced that Sultan Perak Darul Ridzuan Sultan Nazrin Muizzudin Shah had been appointed Deputy Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
