Anwar calls on M’sians to show solidarity

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is inviting Malaysians to participate in the Malaysia with Palestine Assembly at Axiata Arena Stadium, Bukit Jalil, tonight as a sign of national solidarity with Palestinians.

The Prime Minister shared this in a post on his Facebook page yesterday.

“Come on all Malaysians, go to Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil as a sign of our solidarity with the Palestinian people!” he wrote.

A poster shared in the post showed that the rally is scheduled to take place from 7.30pm to 10.30pm.

Anwar is expected to deliver a special message at the gathering.

Serantau Muslim chairman Hakim Mohd Nor said the purpose of the programme was to show Malaysia’s united stand on the plight of the Palestinian people.

He told Bernama the assembly’s three main objectives was to stop the war in Palestine, stop the killing of children, women and the disabled and to create a united voice among Muslims around the world.

Hakim said the white-attire themed gathering was expected to be attended by more than 20,000 people.
