Three boys feared drowned while swimming in Sarawak


SIBU:Three boys are feared drowned while another survived while swimming in Sungai Batang Lassa in Daro on Sunday (Oct 15).

The three victims have been identified as Herodias Enggung, Aldrin Gambang Allan and Sebastian Oziel Seman.

All of them are 13-years old.

State Fire and Rescue Department in its daily update said it received a distress call at 6.37pm from Daro police station concerning a drowning case in the said river.

"The four of them were swimming in the river when strong water current swept three of them away and are said to have drowned," it said.

Firefighters together with the police, civil defence force and villagers immediately launched a search and rescue operation for the victims.

How the SAR was called off at 7.45pm and would continue on Monday (Oct 16).
