Body of man who fell off Endau Bridge found


MERSING: A search operation has ended with the discovery of the body of a man who allegedly fell off the Endau Bridge at 1.35pm on Wednesday (July 26).

Fire and Rescue Department senior officer Mohd Alias Hussin said the body was spotted by anglers on Friday (July 28) at 12.44am.

“They were fishing at the Endau Fisheries Development Board jetty near here when they saw the body in the area,’’ he said in a statement.

Mohd Alias said the body of the 50-year-old victim was discovered about 100m from the last spot where he fell off.

He said the operation had used various methods including the “surface and search’’ technique in the search for the victim.

Mohd Alias said the joint operation headed by the Fire and Rescue Department at Kuala Sungai Endau involved its personnel, marine police, policemen and the Civil Defence Force.

He said the victim’s body was handed over to the police for further action and the operation ended at 1.35am.
