Embrace CSR and celebrate excellence at ASEAN’s largest gifts fair

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Gifts and Premium Association (MGPA) has launched the 13th Malaysia Gifts Fair, one of the largest gifts and premium fairs in ASEAN.

The three-day fair will take place until June 22 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

The launch ceremony was officiated by Domestic Trade and Costs of Living Minister, Datuk Seri Salahuddin Bin Ayub, who was accompanied by MGPA president, Peh Leong Seng, and MGF 2023 organising chairman, Albert Choong, exhibitors and supporting partners.

The Malaysia Gifts Fair has been officially recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records as "Malaysia’s Largest Gifts Fair."

This prestigious distinction stands as a testament to the unwavering support, hard work, and dedication of all stakeholders who have contributed to this remarkable achievement over the past 13 years.

A total of 131 companies from Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, India and the United Kingdom are participating in the event which is endorsed by MATRADE.

This year’s event will feature a wide variety of new products such as souvenirs, designer custom-made gifts, sustainable gifts other than the evergreen gifts like apparel, head ware and textile, award, trophy, badges and pin, bag, leather goods, drinkware, mug, ceramic, gift and premium, IT and electronics, timepieces, machinery and imprint service, packaging and paper product, portfolio and diary, stationery, writing instruments and accessories, wooden products, umbrella as well as sunshades.

With the theme "Endlessly Inspired. Thoughtfully Curated," the Malaysia Gifts Fair of this year, wholeheartedly embraces a shared dedication to achieving excellence.

Choong shared that the fair serves as a reminder that the act of giving gifts transcends mere material possessions, placing emphasis on the profound emotions and enduring memories that ensue.

“This theme also perfectly aligns with MGPA's Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, which focuses on giving back to the community that has played a pivotal role in their accomplishments.”

In the spirit of giving, MGPA has organised a series of workshops at the Malaysia Gifts Fair, providing attendees with an opportunity to explore their creativity while contributing to a greater cause.

All proceeds from these workshops will be used to raise funds for underprivileged children. MGPA firmly believes that education and nourishment are the greatest gifts that can be provided to the next generation.

By supporting NGOs that offer free education and meals to these children, they strive to make a tangible difference in their lives.

Among the workshops offered is the batik painting workshop, a celebration of Malaysia's rich cultural heritage.

Peh emphasised the vital role of the gift industry in promoting the Made-in-Malaysia brand, supporting local artisans and manufacturers, and showcasing Malaysia’s cultural heritage and craftsmanship through meaningful gifts.

“MGPA's advocacy of the gift industry fosters the production and consumption of locally made products, boosting domestic trade and empowering local businesses.”

Salahuddin hoped to position Malaysia as a global hub for the gift industry, attracting international buyers and investors.

He urged MGPA to continue the effort of promoting the growth of the gift industry and fostering stronger domestic and international trade relationships.

Attend the Malaysia Gifts Fair to celebrate the 13th year of this remarkable event and embrace the commitment to excellence, innovation, and community support.

MGPA hopes to elevate the gift industry to new heights and create a lasting positive impact on Malaysia’s economy.

All business visitors are welcomed to join the fair.
