Man found electrocuted at sand factory in Bidor

IPOH: A man was found dead inside an electrical room at a sand factory in Kampung Coldstream, Bidor.

Perak police chief Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said the man, who was found lying face down on the floor, is believed to have died from electric shock during the incident on Monday (May 29) at about 11.30am.

"The victim is believed to have tried to cut some copper.

"We are, however, unable to confirm whether he was attempting to steal the wires and are still investigating why he was there," he said in a statement.

"We also did not find any equipment at the location.

"The victim had some burn marks to his abdomen and medical personnel confirmed that he had died on the spot," he said, adding that a background check found that the victim had eight priors.

Comm Mohd Yusri said the victim's body has been sent to the Tapah Hospital’s forensics department for post-mortem.

"The case has been classified as sudden death.

"The people are warned not to be involved in any activities that are against the law and we will not hesitate to take stern actions against those who commit crime," he added.
