KUALA LUMPUR: Expressions of loyalty and continued support for Datuk Seri Najib Razak remain strong within Johor Umno, with the state leadership emphasising that the former prime minister is still deeply missed.

Johor Umno chief Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi said the division has never forgotten Najib’s service during his tenure as the nation’s leader.

“We in Johor deeply miss the presence of this leader. We pray that he is granted strength and calmness in facing this immense trial.

“Johor Umno fully supports all efforts by the party president (Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi) to seek justice for Najib, our Bossku,” he said at Umno’s 80th-anniversary celebration at the World Trade Centre on Saturday (May 2).

Meanwhile, Onn Hafiz, who is also the Johor Mentri Besar, said the state government will soon announce Phase 4 of the state’s Bantuan Kasih Programme, aimed at easing the burden of rising living costs for the people of Johor.

“Johor has recorded the highest investment in the nation’s history, creating 80,000 job opportunities and achieving gross domestic product (GDP) growth of 6.4%, the highest in the country.

“The state’s revenue has also reached a record level of more than RM2.6 billion.

“More importantly, every gain we have achieved, we return to the people we love, and we will continue to strive to develop this state and care for the people of Johor,” he said.

He added that Johor Umno will continue its efforts to strengthen the division, improve its administration and provide the best service to the people.

“What is more important is the grassroots wave of support and machinery. We were entrusted by the people again in the 2022 state election, where Barisan Nasional won 40 out of the 56 seats contested.

“We are deeply appreciative of the support given by the people and are determined to carry out this trust and responsibility in the best possible way,” he said.
