KOTA KINABALU: Four new department heads have officially started their duties with the Sabah police contingent on Monday (May 8).

Among them were Senior Asst Comm Azmi Abd Rahim, who was appointed as the Sabah Criminal Investigation Department (CID) chief, and SAC Nik Md Zain Nik Omar, who has taken over as the state Management Department head.

At the same time, ACP Datin Laila Sagir was appointed as the Sabah Logistics and Technology Department head, while DSP Iyda Ismail took over as the acting State Commercial Crime Investigation Department chief.

The handing over of duties ceremony was witnessed by Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun at the state police headquarters in Kepayan here on Monday (May 8).

Comm Jauteh called on the state police community to welcome and cooperate with the new department heads who either came from Bukit Aman or from other state police contingents.

He said everyone in the police force must move as a unit, adding none should take credit from other people’s efforts for personal gain.

"As long as I am the Sabah Police Commissioner, I will ensure those who deserve credit will get them.

"As such, I hope we will move as one in the uniform to elevate the Royal Malaysian Police and subsequently provide the best service to the people," he said.
