Car wrecked in collision on MRR2


KUALA LUMPUR: A motorist escaped with only a broken hand from the crumpled wreckage of a Perodua MyVi following a two-vehicle collision along the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2) here.

Fire and Rescue Department were called in to rescue the driver, who was pinned behind the wheel of his car, which was unrecognisable following the crash.

Operations Commander Mohd Fakhrusy Syakirin Mamat said they received a distress call about the accident at 12.32pm yesterday.

“Two fire engines and an emergency medical rescue services vehicle were dispatched to the scene with 15 personnel.

“They arrived at the scene and found that a Perodua Myvi and lorry – which were travelling towards the Terminal Bersepadu Selatan – had been involved in an accident, with the driver of the car found still pinned inside of the vehicle,” he said in a statement yesterday.

He added that they managed to remove the driver from the vehicle at 1.11pm.

“The victim suffered a broken left hand and was taken to the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre for further treatment,” he said.
