Batang Kali landslide: Cops to record statement from campsite manager

HULU SELANGOR: The manager of the Father’s Organic Farm has been called in for questioning.

Hulu Selangor OCPD Supt Suffian Abdullah said they would call him on Saturday (Dec 17) to record his statement.

"We will take the necessary follow-up action," he told reporters at the scene here on Saturday.

It was reported that the campsite operator at Father's Organic Farm did not have a valid licence to host such activities.

Local Government Development Minister Nga Kor Ming was quoted saying on Friday that checks with the Hulu Selangor Municipal Council (MPHS) revealed the operator only had a licence to operate an organic farm.

The operator filed an application to begin organic farming activities in 2019 but was believed to have started operating the campsite in 2020.

He said stern action would be taken against any operator found hosting such activities without valid licences, adding that those guilty could face a maximum of three years in jail or a RM50,000 fine.
