Pahang exco members get their portfolios

KUANTAN: The 10 Pahang state executive council members have been assigned their portfolios.

Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said he would be holding the planning, finance, land, natural resources, energy, water, economy development, plantations and commodities portfolios.

He said on Wednesday (Dec 14) that Datuk Seri Mohd Soffi Abd Razak would take on the agriculture, agro-based industry, biotechnology and education portfolios.

For Datuk Seri Syed Ibrahim Syed Ahmad, the portfolios are Islamic religious affairs, rural development and Orang Asli affairs.

Datuk Mohammad Fakhruddin Mohd Ariff would hold the public works, transport and health portfolios.

Razali Kassim was assigned Felda, cooperatives and entrepreneur affairs while Datuk Seri Johari Harun was given the local government, housing, environment and green technology portfolios.

Datuk Mohamad Nizar Mohamad Najib had the investment, industries, science, technology and innovation portfolios while Datuk Sabariah Saidan would hold public welfare, women and family development.

Fadzli Mohamad Kamal was now the chairman of the communications and multimedia, youth, sports and non-governmental organisations committee.

Sim Chon Siang had the consumer affairs and human resources portfolios while Leong Yu Man was assigned unity, tourism and culture.

Wan Rosdy said he hoped that all exco members could put aside their political sentiments and ideological differences to work together as a team in ensuring that the state's agendas for development and safeguarding the people's welfare continue to be implemented with excellence.

"Carry out each given task with a sense of responsibility and trust so that the desire to make Pahang a developed state will be achieved.

"In addition, I hope that the people of Pahang can also give their trust and support to the newly-formed state government for the sake of stability and prosperity," he added.

Wan Rosdy said it was now time to open a new chapter of mature politics and celebrate differences in an atmosphere of racial and religious diversity so that everyone could continue living in peace and harmony.
