KL cops nab man for allegedly beating daughter to death, burying body


KUALA LUMPUR: A man has been arrested for allegedly beating his nine-year-old daughter to death and attempting to conceal the act by burying her body near Taman Dusun Bandar here.

Police were alerted after the man's foreign wife lodged a police report, alleging that her husband had abused their daughter.

It was learnt that the woman came home from work and found her daughter in a weak state and bleeding from the mouth on Friday (Dec 9) evening.

The woman lodged a police report but when the police and her went to the house, the man and his daughter were missing.

Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Noor Dellhan Yahaya said police immediately started a search for both individuals.

"We managed to arrest the 40-year-old suspect at around 12.30pm on Monday (Dec 12).

"Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to burying the girl by the roadside along Taman Dusun Bandar, Jalan Bellamy," he said, adding that the suspect has been remanded for seven days.

He said that a post mortem on the girl revealed she died from severe abdominal injuries caused by blunt force trauma.

"We have classified the case as murder and exposing a child in a manner likely to cause physical or emotional injury.

"We urge the public to be aware of their surroundings and immediately contact the police if they suspect any form of abuse was occurring," he said.
