GE15: Rafizi's threat to Azam hints at more selective prosecution, says Tok Mat

SEREMBAN: Rafizi Ramli’s comments against Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki prove that Pakatan Harapan practises politics "of revenge", says Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.

"How can he threaten a public servant who is a part of the structure that governs the country? He is doing his duty, and you want to threaten that if you win you will 'find him'?

"What are you trying to say? This clearly shows that (a Pakatan government will be) a government of revenge, just like in 2018," he said after meeting voters in Gadong village within the Rembau constituency on Friday (Nov 18).

The Barisan Nasional election director and GE15 Rembau candidate added that this hinted at selective prosecution.

"As senior leaders we should be championing justice and upholding the law. But you had your office raided and files checked, (so) you panic and start (issuing threats).

"None of this is acceptable," he said.

Rafizi, the PKR deputy president, said during a speech in Johor Baru on Wednesday (Nov 16) that Azam would be held responsible for alleged irregularities by the MACC in raids and seizures from the office of Invoke Solutions Sdn Bhd.

On another note, Mohamad reiterated that Barisan's Prime Minister of choice will be Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

"The party has already decided. Full stop," he said.

On Saturday's (Nov 18) election, he said victory was achievable if 90% or more of their "white voters" or hardcore supporters come out to vote.

He cited recent victories in state polls and by-elections as proof that the people wanted Barisan.

"Campaigning this time around has been smooth. It’s because I believe people already made up their minds three years ago," he said.

Mohamad is in a five cornered fight for the Rembau parliamentary seat.

Others in the running are S. Tinagaran (Parti Sosialis Malaysia), Mohd Nazree Mohd Yunus (Perikatan Nasional), Ramly Awaluddin(Gerakan Tanah Air) and Jufitri Joha (Pakatan Harapan).
