PETALING JAYA: An internal probe has been launched into a recently-leaked judgment purportedly for Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s SRC International corruption trial at the Federal Court, says the Federal Court Chief Registrar’s Office.
In a statement on Tuesday (August 23), it said a police report was also lodged on the matter.
“Such actions have intentionally jeopardised the integrity of the courts and the justice system.

"We stress that the judiciary will not be perturbed by irresponsible actions that go against the law and jeopardise the integrity of the system,” it said.
This came in response to a 15-page document that was said to have been uploaded by an online news portal on Aug 23 which went viral following Najib's trial at the Federal Court.

“The document that went viral was also a draft and was modified. The actual judgment was only handed out at 4pm on Aug 23,” it added.
Earlier, the Federal Court dismissed Najib’s appeal to quash his conviction and sentence in the SRC case.
Chief Justice Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat said the defence was so inherently inconsistent as it failed to raise reasonable doubt, adding that the conviction was safe on all seven charges and that the sentence is not excessive.

On July 28, 2020, Justice Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali (now a Court of Appeal judge) convicted and sentenced Najib on seven charges involving criminal breach of trust (CBT), money laundering and abuse of position, involving SRC funds, totalling RM42mil.
He was sentenced to 12 years' jail and a fine of RM210mil.
The conviction and sentence were upheld by the Court of Appeal.
