Investigate authenticity of 'leaked' judgment, says Umno Youth chief

PETALING JAYA: The police must investigate the authenticity of an alleged judgment written in the Federal Court case involving Datuk Seri Najib Razak, says Umno Youth chief Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki.

He said the 15-page document is said to have been uploaded by an online news portal on Tuesday (Aug 23) and added that it has since gone viral following Najib's SRC International corruption trial at Federal Court.

"It is very shocking that a document said to be that of the Federal Court's decision on Datuk Seri Najib Razak's SRC appeal case has gone viral even though the court proceedings were still ongoing," Asyraf said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.

"The question is whether the documents are authentic and original? Is the agenda to cause utter confusion with regards to the principle of justice in the country,” said Asyraf.

“There must be an immediate denial by the courts so that no negative presumptions arise which can damage the image of the nation's judicial institution," he added.

Asyraf said the youth wing will lodge a police report on the matter on Tuesday to allow investigations to be carried out immediately.
