Rafizi: I'll reveal more on LCS scandal on Aug 23

PETALING JAYA: PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli (pic) says he will reveal more documents related to the littoral combat ship (LCS) scandal on Tuesday (Aug 23).

Standing by his earlier allegations, Rafizi said in a Facebook post that the documents will detail the alleged links between a former deputy minister and a woman said to own offshore firm Alizes Marine, which he said was involved in the scandal.

He said the papers will shed light on why the minister was named as the spouse of the woman.

“Wait for tomorrow. I will show the documents,” he said.

“I have been proven right several times. My expose records on major scandals starting from the NFC (National Feedlot Corp), Tabung Haji, Mara, LTAT, Felda, SRC and 1MDB have all culminated with those involved being charged in court,” he said.

Mersing MP Abdul Latiff Ahmad, who is also Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Special Functions), was quick to deny Rafizi's claims.

Rafizi, however, said he was referring to a different Zainab Mohd Salleh, who is not the CFO of Dialog Group.

Citing investigation papers, Rafizi said Alizes Marine was appointed as the spare parts supplier for the LCS project.

“The appointment was based on fake information that it had the licence from the French government to export defence spare parts (when in actuality it did not have such licences),” he said.

He claimed that RM210mil was paid to the company but it was channeled to dummy corporations set up in tax havens.

He said the company was also appointed as a technical consultant when it did not have the expertise.

“It sent invoices for work that was not completed. A total of RM23.37mil was siphoned through this method during the early days of the project which is from 2011 to 2014,” he claimed.

“My checks revealed that the misappropriation of public funds from the LCS project has been going on for years and was well planned," Rafizi added.
