Nurul Izzah returns as PKR veep


PETALING JAYA: Nurul Izzah Anwar (pic) had been appointed as one of PKR’s vice-presidents during the central leadership council meeting for the 2022-2025 term.

The first meeting which was held at the party’s headquarters on Wednesday (July 20), saw the appointment of three new vice-presidents namely the Permatang Pauh MP, Saraswathy Kandasamy and Putatan MP Awang Husaini Awang Sahari, reported Sinar Harian.

PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail would continue his duties as PKR secretary-general.

"Selayang MP William Leong will hold the post of party treasurer, Lembah Pantai MP Fahmi Fadzil will be the information bureau chief and Zahir Hassan will take up the role of the chief secretary for management.

"Furthermore, five central leadership council members were appointed, including Manivanan Gowin; Tawau MP Datuk Christina Liew; Batu Tiga assemblyman Rodziah Ismail, Yuneswaran Ramaraj and Abun Sui Anyit," he said at a media conference on Wednesday (July 17).

On Sunday (July 17), the party’s selection committee announced the new election for the position of PKR vice-presidents namely, Setiawangsa MP Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad; Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun; Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Amirudin Shari and Tanjung Malim MP Chang Lih Kang.
