KUALA LUMPUR: A social media content creator has been urged to come forward and cooperate on claims that government officers were truant when she visited the department earlier this month.
The Prime Minister's Department, in a post on its Facebook page Saturday (June 25), said they have yet to receive a formal complaint from the social media content creator on the incident.
"To date, we (Prime Minister's Department) have not received any formal complaint regarding the issues that were raised.
"We request that the person who made the video (on TikTok) contact us and provide further information to facilitate investigations," the post read.
They then provided means for the woman to come forward, urging her to contact them via email (aduan_ukk@jpm.gov.my) via phone (03-8872 3430) or visit them to provide the details of the incident.
They said they remained committed to ensuring customers received the best treatment.
It was reported by a news portal that the complaints were made on the short video platform TikTok on June 3.
In the video, the woman railed against government officers for being lazy.
It was reported that her allegations were that there were no officers at the department's reception counter when she visited that day.
After a long wait, she claimed to have been informed by another officer that the government workers were on their break.
It was noon at the time, according to the woman.
The woman said she then went to have lunch at a cafeteria at another government building and alleged that many patrons did not leave to go back to work despite lunch hour ending at 2pm.
She said it was immoral for government officers who are paid by the public and entrusted to serve, to not do their jobs.
