KUALA LUMPUR: Two Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) enforcement officers in Selangor were injured while carrying out duties under Ops Tiris 4.0, an operation to curb the misappropriation of subsidised liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) through decanting activities.
Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said Assistant Enforcement Officer Mohammad Fauzi Baharuddin sustained fairly serious injuries and was still receiving treatment.
Meanwhile, Enforcement Assistant R. Yoghanath sustained minor injuries and was allowed to return home after receiving treatment.
"My prayers are with Mohammad Fauzi for a full recovery and the strength to go through the treatment process. To his family, I understand the anxiety and worry you are going through at this time.
"May he continue to be given strength and fortitude. To Yoghanath, may you continue to enjoy good health and make a full recovery," he said in a Facebook post on Tuesday (Aug 18).
Armizan said the incident reflected the risks faced by KPDN enforcement personnel every time they carried out duties in the field.
"Behind every raid and operation carried out, there are officers who leave their families to carry out their duties, facing unpredictable situations and, in certain circumstances, risking their own safety to protect the interests of the people and the country.
"To all KPDN enforcement personnel, thank you for your courage and sacrifice," he said, adding that he also prayed for the safety of all KPDN personnel carrying out their duties. – Bernama
