ACTRESS Nelissa Nizam is not concerned that her name is only on the rise now after some six years in the industry, Harian Metro reported.

Conceding that her journey has not been smooth, Nelissa said she never expected that her supporting character Maria in the drama Budak Tebing 2 would carve her a name in the industry.

“Finally, all the dues that I paid for the past six years have been worth it. I am grateful that my career has picked up in the past two years,” she said.

The 24-year-old said she began actively acting in 2016 in the drama Dia Semanis Honey, followed by other dramas.

“However, my presence was not that widely known until Budak Tebing 2 last year.

“Alhamdulillah, people began to see my talent after that drama and I have received many offers since,” she added.

Her latest outing is in the drama series Cinta Hilang, and she is also currently pursuing a degree in Mass Communications at Universiti Teknologi Mara in Shah Alam.

“I am also just starting to delve into music through the group The Gadys, which also consists of my friends Aznie Azmi, Ayunie Rizal and Faa Zaini.

“We expect to come up with our first single next month,” she said.
