Sabah govt to strengthen collaboration with Education Dept, says Hajiji

KOTA KINABALU: The state government will continue to work with and support the Education Department in enhancing the quality of learning in Sabah, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

He said close relationships between both parties were crucial to strengthen the state’s education sector and subsequently produce quality and competitive human capital.

“The state government is committed to supporting and strengthening the education sector, particularly in enhancing the quality of learning, empowering school management, and ensuring the holistic development of students throughout Sabah,” Hajiji said.

He also stressed the importance of strategic and continuous collaboration between the state and the Sabah Education Department to ensure that all education policies and initiatives were implemented effectively and comprehensively.

He said this after a courtesy call from the Sabah Education Department delegation led by its Director, Datuk Raisin Saidin, at the Chief Minister’s office in Menara Kinabalu on Monday.

During the meeting, Raisin presented a briefing on the Department’s key programmes for this year and plans for the coming year, including the progress and encouraging achievements of students in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examinations.

It was earlier reported that Sabah students recorded better results in the 2025 SPM examination.
