Azri Iskandar finds a new lover 12 days after divorce

TWELVE days after his divorce, actor Azri Iskandar found a new love, Kosmo! reported.

“I met her for the first time while we were discussing a drama project with RTM. It was love at first sight,” said Azri, 54.

“After the meeting, I called her to ask about the project. But actually, I just missed hearing her voice,” he added.

Azri divorced his wife Ellie Suriaty on May 17 after a 19-year marriage.

Ellie had been quoted as saying that she was not surprised with the latest news about her former husband, adding that she had known that this would happen.

Azri, who appeared in the movie Pontianak Harum Sundal Malam, said his new love, Azra Diera, 43, has a doctorate in music.

“If possible, I want to have our wedding this month as well,” he said.

The date had not been fixed yet, but he said he planned to visit her family in Perlis within a fortnight.

> Certain children’s toy gaming machines are considered haram for Muslims as they contained elements of gambling, Sinar Harian reported. The report quoted Perlis mufti Datuk Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin as saying that the game involved monetary bets in which someone could be a “winner” when he clinched a prize, or is on the losing end.

He said a fatwa on this was issued by the Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council in March last year.

In a post on Instagram, he said Muslims should not operate gambling machines as they are considered to be taking money indirectly from other people.
