Use Deepavali celebration to foster peace, harmony, Anwar urges Malaysians

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called on all Malaysians to use the Deepavali celebration as an opportunity to continue fostering goodness, mutual respect, and harmony within a multicultural and multi-faith society.

In a Facebook post Thursday (Nov 5), the Prime Minister said that despite cultural and religious diversity, the people share the same values - love, understanding, and the desire to live together in peace and harmony.

"This is the beauty of Malaysia that we must continue to preserve. Happy Deepavali to everyone celebrating!" he said.

Anwar also uploaded a two-minute-12-second video highlighting his visit to the 2026 Deepavali Mega Bazaar in Brickfields, here, Wednesday (Nov 4).
