Senior citizen found dead after alleged assault, three relatives arrested

SEREMBAN: A man and two women have been arrested to assist in investigations into the death of a senior citizen who was allegedly beaten to death here.

Negeri Sembilan police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said the suspects, aged between 28 and 34 years old, were related to the victim, who was in his 60s.

"Today, police received a report about a video that went viral on TikTok showing a man in his 60s being abused by several individuals. The victim was found dead yesterday.

"Following this, police conducted an investigation and arrested the three individuals. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code," he said in a statement Thursday (Nov 5).

DCP Alzafny said police also seized several items believed to be linked to the incident, including a rubber hose allegedly used to assault the victim, a wheelchair, a mobile phone and clothing.

He advised the public against speculating about the incident, as this could hamper investigations, adding that firm action without compromise would be taken against anyone involved. - Bernama
