Sarawak's oldest mosque to reopen in last 10 days of Ramadan


SIBU: At 161 years old, the Al-Qadim Mosque in Sibu is the oldest mosque in Sarawak and it is expected to be reopened for Tarawih prayers on the last ten days of this Ramadan.

State Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development, Dr Annuar Rapaee (said) said the newly renovated mosque was built by an Indonesian cleric who came to Sibu to preach to the Muslim community in Kampung Nyabor in 1861 and could accommodate 500 worshippers.
