JOHOR BARU: The Johor state administration will continue to function in a caretaker capacity, operating at a minimal level to ensure the smooth management of daily affairs ahead of the state election.

According to a post on Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar’s Facebook page yesterday, although the Johor State Legislative Assembly was dissolved on June 1, all day-to-day administrative affairs continue as usual and require close attention.

In this regard, His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, received Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi in audience on Wednesday, Bernama reported.

The meeting at Istana Pasir Pelangi was held to present the latest updates on the state government’s administration.

The post stated that the meeting was part of regular sessions between His Majesty and the Mentri Besar, which are maintained under the caretaker government after the dissolution of the state legislative assembly.

The Election Commission is set to hold a special meeting today to decide the key dates for the Johor and Negri Sembilan state elections.
