Time to close ranks and give full cooperation to new PM, Wan Junaidi tells all political parties

KUCHING: A Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) lawmaker has called on all political parties to give their full cooperation to new Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob as Malaysia continues to face the Covid-19 pandemic.

Santubong MP Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar (pic) said everyone should close ranks and work towards the common goal of recovering from the impact of the pandemic.

"Let’s set aside all of our political differences and work together for the betterment of the country and its people," he said in a statement on Friday (Aug 20).

Wan Junaidi also congratulated Ismail Sabri on his appointment as the ninth Prime Minister.

"His appointment certainly carries a huge responsibility, particularly in resolving Covid-19 issues," he said.

At the same time, he hoped the parties which had pledged their support would stand united in helping the new Prime Minister address the issues at hand and not assert too many demands for appointments in the formation of his new Cabinet.
