IGP reminds political parties to not hold physical meetings during MCO, EMCO

KUALA LUMPUR: All political parties are reminded not to conduct face-to-face meetings during the implementation of the movement control order and enhanced MCO.

Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani (pic) said he believed that all political parties understand Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs).

"I believe all of them understand the dos and don'ts of the SOP set by the National Security Council.

"However, we will investigate if we receive any report of such meetings, " he told reporters after visiting Flat Sri Sabah in Cheras, which has been placed under enhanced MCO.

So far, the police have not received any report on any meetings involving political parties during the enhanced MCO, which have been imposed in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, Acryl Sani said.

Acryl Sani's comments come after he was asked about political parties holding meetings during the movement control order and enhanced MCO.
