Finding love through PUBG

WHAT began as a friendship over the online game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) eventually blossomed into love, leading a lorry driver to choose a person with disabilities as his life partner.

Amirul Syahmi Mohamad Yazid, 32, from Batu Pahat, Johor, married Siti Aishah Zaid, 29, on Aug 17, 2019. The couple is now blessed with two children, aged five years and nine months.

“After she was paralysed from the waist down following a motorcycle accident in 2017, we met while playing PUBG. What started as a friendship slowly turned into love,” he said in a Harian Metro report.

Siti Aishah said she deeply appreciates her husband’s willingness to accept her despite her physical limitations.

> Some senior citizens living alone are opting for care centres to find companionship and escape the isolation that often follows the loss of a spouse.

Siti Marlyana Abu Hassan, manager of Pusat Jagaan Warga Emas Al Ikhlas in Alor Setar, Kedah, told Kosmo! that several residents – including retired civil servants – willingly chose to relocate. “When asked, they say they want an environment where they have friends to talk to and deepen their religious knowledge.”

However, she noted that while some moved in independently, the majority are still placed there by their families.

> Veteran singer Ameng Spring has hit back at Liza Hanim, claiming she is “riding on his popularity” after she expressed disappointment over his recent livestream remarks, Kosmo! reported.

Ameng, who is also known as Wan Aminuddin Wan Ismail, 58, clarified that his comments – suggesting a competition victory does not guarantee fame – were intended for his daughter, Azeva Natassha, who is currently competing in the second season of Talk To My Manager (TTMM).

He denied targeting Liza’s daughter, Marsya Qistina, who won the first season.

“In that live session, I said not to expect victory, but I never mentioned TTMM1 or Marsya. Liza does not need to overreact.”
