A bus driver in Zhejiang, China, was hailed a hero for bringing his bus safely to a stop, despite suffering a heart attack, reported China Press.

CCTV footage of the incident showed driver Zhou Yu, gradually losing consciousness following a heart attack while driving.

Even so, Zhou was able to apply the brakes and prevent the vehicle from crashing into the car in front of him, saving the lives of all those on board.

When passengers went to the driver’s seat to see what had happened, Zhou was slumped in his seat and was not responsive.

They immediately called the police.

Police officers and paramedics who arrived at the scene tried to revive the man but to no avail.

He was soon pronounced dead.

The incident sparked widespread discussion online, with Internet users praising Zhou for his dedication and sense of responsibility towards the safety of passengers.

> What was supposed to be a fun mini marathon between father and son turned into a tragedy when the man in Shaanxi, China, died of cardiac arrest, reported Oriental Daily.

The incident took place on the morning of May 30 when 36-year-old Dong Duan accompanied his son at a running event at his kindergarten in Shangluo city.

During the race, Dong could be seen holding his son’s hand as they ran together.

A heartwarming moment showing the child turning around to look back towards his father was captured in a photo.

Little did they know that it would be the last picture they would share together.

At around 8.30am, Dong was seen clutching his chest midway through the run.

He staggered forward a few steps before collapsing.

Paramedics arrived shortly after and rushed him to the hospital. However, Dong could not be revived and was pronounced dead.

Dong’s younger sister is currently claiming that the kindergarten was negligent as it had failed to provide first aid to her brother.

Instead, it was passersby who called emergency services.

She claimed that precious minutes had been wasted which could have saved her brother’s life.

Dong’s family and the kindergarten are currently in mediation on liability and compensation.
