Four held in raid on house in Juru, meth and ganja seized


BUKIT MERTAJAM: Three men and a woman have been arrested during a police raid on a house in Taman Sentul Jaya in Juru here which also led to the seizure of assorted drugs.

Central Seberang Prai OCPD Asst Comm Shafee Abd Samad said the suspects, aged between 18 and 24 years, were detained at about 5pm on Tuesday (June 22) by a team from the district Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department.

"During the raid we found a pack containing 27 small packets on the floor of the living room containing drugs, believed to be methamphetamine, weighing 52.01g and worth RM5,201," he said in a statement on Wednesday (June 23).

ACP Shafee said police also found another plastic packet containing 19 small packets of drugs containing ganja weighing about 101.3g worth an estimated RM5,065.

ACP Shafee said checks on the suspects found that two of them have prior records for drug and other crimes.

He said police also seized two motorcycles during the operation.

The case is being investigated under Section 15(1)(a), Section 39A(1) and Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
