Man, 28, dies after being slashed, stabbed with beer bottles in Bangsar


KUALA LUMPUR: A 28-year-old man was killed while another suffered injuries following a fight on Jalan Telawi in Bangsar early Saturday (March 13) morning.

The video of the victim falling in front of a convenience store in Bangsar has since gone viral on social media.

Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Anuar Omar said the victim was walking with his friends towards a parking lot after drinking alcoholic beverages at a restaurant on Jalan Telawi when the incident occurred at about 1am on Saturday.

"As he was heading towards his car, the victim and his friends ran into a group of men and a fight ensued.

"The victim was slashed with a knife and stabbed with beer bottles," he said when contacted on Saturday.

ACP Anuar said the victim then fled to a nearby shopping mall and fell in front of a convenience store.

"He was rushed to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) and he died while receiving treatment," he added.

Meanwhile, a 30-year-old man, who is one of the victim's friends suffered injuries to his face and he is receiving treatment at Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL), ACP Anuar said.

"We believe one of the assailants had a grudge against the victim.

"We have identified five suspects and we are tracking them down," he said.
