Man detained over murder of NGO worker in Taman Bangi


PETALING JAYA: Police have arrested a suspect in the ongoing investigation into the murder of a woman who worked for a non-governmental organisation.

"The 57-year-old man was arrested in Kajang last night at around 8.45pm.

"He will be remanded today," said Selangor CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Fadzil Ahmat in a statement on Tuesday (March 9).

The victim was found dead in a house in Taman Bangi with marks on her neck on Monday (March 8).

Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zaid Hassan said her body was found at around 9am.

He said in a statement that the investigation showed the woman worked for an NGO and a police report was made by one of her colleagues.

"The victim, in her 30s and is believed to have died 24 hours before her body was discovered," he said.
