Teacher to hang for murdering family members

A TEACHER convicted of drugging and hacking to death seven family members for opposing her marriage to her lover will become the first woman to be hanged in India since its independence, Makkal Osai reported.

Identified as Shabnam, she has Master’s degrees in English and Geography. She filed a last-ditch plea to the Uttar Pradesh governor but preparations are underway for the hanging in the only female gallows in the country in Mathura city.
