SEPANG: The MCA and its partners in the Barisan Nasional coalition are ready to face the Sabah polls, says party president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.
Dr Wee, who is also Transport Minister, said Barisan will work together as a team with Perikatan Nasional.
"We are ready to face the Sabah state elections, regardless (of whether it is) in the context of Barisan or Perikatan, the ruling government.
"We will work as a team and we are ready to face the challenges," he told reporters after the launch of shopMYairports e-commerce platform at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) here on Monday (Sept 7).
The Sabah state elections will be held on Sept 26.
"The drums have started to beat (paluan gendang sudah bermula), so we have to be ready, we need to move forward," said Dr Wee.
When asked if MCA is a party registered with Perikatan, he merely said: "In the context of Barisan, it consists of Umno, MCA, MIC and PBRS. That is all.
"We (Barisan) are part of the ruling government, which is Perikatan Nasional," he added.
Perikatan, together with Barisan, will announce the names of its candidates this week.
