SEPANG: Two police officers allegedly assaulted by Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) director-general Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain will file a civil suit seeking compensation within seven days.
Lawyer Kamal Hisham Jaafar, representing the two, said the action was being taken in view of the alleged physical injuries and psychological impact on his clients, identified as Muhammad Ekmal Sofwan Dirman and Mohamad Faiz Saman.
"We undertake to file the action in court within seven days," he told reporters after proceedings here on Wednesday (Oct 21).

Kamal Hisham said the decision was made after the officers sought his assistance as they faced difficulties, including financial constraints and the significant difference in rank between them and the individual accused.
"I am handling the case on a pro bono basis. I am not charging either of the officers any fees.
"When they approached me and explained their problems and difficulties, including their lack of funds, they felt that there was no one willing to help them," he said.
He also denied claims circulating on social media that certain parties or a cartel were financing the legal services for the case.
Kamal Hisham also urged the public to stop speculating about alleged syndicate links or "counter setting" claims involving the two policemen.

He stressed that the allegations were unrelated to the incident that formed the basis of the charges brought in court against Comm Shuhaily on Wednesday.
Earlier, Comm Shuhaily, 54, was charged with two counts of allegedly assaulting two Special Branch officers at Terminal 1 of Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on Sept 28.
The court granted him bail of RM1,500 for each charge, for a total of RM3,000, with one surety for both charges.
