Population growth a factor in measuring crime

KUALA LUMPUR: For the past three years, police have taken into account not just the number of crime incidents but also population growth in order to get a more realistic measurement of the overall crime situation in the country.

Comm Datuk Zainal Abidin Kasim said that since 2017, the number of index crime incidents each year is compared against a figure called a threshold figure in order to find out whether the situation is improving or otherwise.
