Perak exco member apologises for 'meal incident' at tahfiz

Perak state executive council member Razman Zakaria

IPOH: The Perak state executive council member Razman Zakaria has openly apologised for the event where a group of people, including a deputy health minister, was seen having a meal in Lenggong during the movement control order (MCO).

In his Facebook post, Razman said every day he was going to the ground to help frontliners to check if they required any equipment, especially healthcare staff.

"Every night volunteers send food to security forces manning roadblocks around Bagan Serai, and that is how we get to know what is required.

"In each case, we are very concerned about the standard operating procedure, and if we have violated the procedure, God willing, we will overcome it," he said.

Razman said his explanation above was not given to be excluded from any legal action but to make known the actual situation.

On Saturday (April 18), a post on social media by some Perikatan Nasional members, including that of Deputy Health Minister Datuk Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali had drawn criticism from netizens for having a meal at a Maahad Tahfiz belonging to Razman.

Razman had posted on his Facebook that they were served "kampung" dishes during the event held at the school.

The photos showed there were around 20 to 30 people who were seated on the floor having their meals.

Perak police chief Comm Datuk Razarudin Husain had said all those who allegedly had the meal together would be investigated.
