PM to announce decision on MCO extension on Friday (April 10)

PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin will announce tomorrow (April 10) whether the movement control order (MCO) will be extended beyond April 14.

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said he and ministry officials will meet with Muhyiddin tomorrow morning to present their proposals.

“At 6pm today (Thursday, April 9), I will be having a meeting and we will be looking at the existing data of Covid-19 cases, and we will see if the MCO should be extended, ” said Dr Noor Hisham at a press conference.

When asked what time the Prime Minister’s announcement would be, Dr Noor Hisham said: “You will have to ask the PM”.

The MCO is in its second phase after the initial March 31 deadline was extended by the government by two weeks.
