Nina is ‘cut out’ for ancient Chinese paper craft

Patience and interest: Nina, who loves embroidery and sewing, was able to master Chinese paper cutting within a month.

PETALING JAYA: Nina Abdullah does not read or write in Chinese, or speak in Mandarin. But that did not stop her from learning jianzhi or the art of Chinese paper cutting.

“It may look easy but the art of jianzhi requires persistence, not just on the techniques of using its tools such as scissors, knives and paper.
