Search on for 10-year-old feared drowned in Hulu Selangor river


KUALA LUMPUR: A 10-year-old boy is feared to have drowned after he was believed to have been swept away by currents in Sungai Nilam, Sungai Selisek, Hulu Selangor, on Wednesday (May 27).

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the Kuala Kubu Baru station was dispatched to the scene about 40km away after the emergency was received at 1.40pm.

"Search work is being carried out by firefighters at the location," he said in a statement.

He said the first engine with five firemen arrived at the location at 2.35pm along with a fire rescue tender (FRT), a pickup truck and a boat. - Bernama
