MELAKA: PKR Deputy President Datuk Seri Azmin Ali says he has a good working relationship with Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and other leaders.
He said the opposing views and democracy in PKR to voice differences were misinterpreted as infighting between him and Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
"PKR is a dynamic party and the party is growing stronger.
"The media probably felt that it is strange for its president and his deputy to engage contrasting views," he said at the press conference after opening the PKR Women's Congress at Melaka International Trade Centre at Ayer Keroh on Thursday (Dec 5).
Azmin also said there's only one PKR National Congress, and the "parallel" one in Kuala Lumpur is not recognised.
Azmin said he would continue to work with Anwar to overcome gutter politics and protect the sanctity of PKR.
On the question on why he seldom attends party meetings, Azmin replied that he has to attend many governmental events, as well as foreign trips.
"We are still an infant Federal Government, and I need to focus on various developments," he said.
He also defended Anwar against the latest sodomy allegations, stating that it is dirty politics and pure absurdity.
Earlier in his speech, Azmin said Malaysia Baharu should not encourage racial and religious narratives but instead by working hard to preserve the harmonious multicultural environment.
